75 76 77 The End

175, 176 & 177/365

Sweeney closed last night. It was a very bittersweet ending. I loved being back on the stage and I gained so much experience from this show. I made new friends and had so much fun! I'm going to miss these people so much. I'm really excited to step even further into the theater world.

I have a tradition for every show that I'm in I do this with my headshot in full costume. It's fun. :)

This is the incredible mural that went on the wall above a section of the seats. It's so beautiful.

And this is me with my boys. Gabe and Adolpho. I love them dearly. Adolpho is going to PLU next year and the three of us are gonna hit up Pike Place Market sometime this summer.

You Look Tan!

174/365

So Rochelle told us about this joke that she and one of her friends have. It's basically telling rotisserie chickens that they look tan. In a valley girl accent. And I found it hilarious. A few others did too. And she said that she was surprised that I found it so funny. But it was something that my friends and I would do.

So on Saturday, between shows, Gabe and I went to Safeway to pick up some strawberries and we saw the chickens. And took this picture in honor of Rochelle.

So, beautiful lady...

YOU LOOK TAN!!!!

A Who in Sweeney Todd???

155/365

Gloria was using a curling iron that was foreign to her. And this "Who-esque" curl occurred. It was great. :)

I'm done with the show for a few days. It will be nice to have a little break from the show. Now all I get to "focus" on is work.

Karaoke Night!

153/365

We had a good opening night. It wasn't perfect, but it went well. We are continuing to have fun and that's why I do theater. Because its fun! So after opening we went next door to La Palma for after show cocktails and karaoke! It was so excellent.

Rochelle and Adolpho rocked "Summer Nights" from Grease! It was so funny! The rest of the cast that was there played the parts of the T-Birds and the Pink Ladies.

I love my cast. Everyone was so welcoming and even though I don't have a lot of theater experience they didn't think twice about acting with me. They just did and I appreciate that. :)

Preview Night!

152/365

Tonight was our preview night! It could have been better but I think we all had a really fun time while we were there and that's all that matters!

So this is Gabe.

We met during the show and we really just clicked. He is so precious and we have a lot of fun together.

The shoes he wears in the show are so giant. They make my feet look itty bitty!

Also throughout June, I will be doing the 30 Day Song Challenge.

Day 01 - Your Favorite Song: "Perfect" by Pink.

Stage Makeup

151/365

This is me in my stage makeup. It's kinda faded after a final dress rehearsal before we perform for an audience! It's gone really well, but we're kinda nervous because our Barber's Chair arrived today and it was broken. So they're fixing it and the people who die in the chair have an extra early call time tomorrow before the show.

It's gonna be so great! We're all really excited!

Victorian Hair

147/365

So today was our costume parade. And we had to do full hair and makeup. I wasn't sure about my makeup so I did it at the Playhouse, but I did my hair at home. Looks pretty good doesn't it?

I had fun putting it up. I did not have so much fun at rehearsal. It was our cue to cue, a.k.a. doing scenes and stopping randomly to adjust lights. It was long and boring. I was so ready to be out of there. But I eventually did. I'm ready to start just doing runs of the show. It's time to start doing that...

Blocking and Projects

131 & 132/365

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. Blogger was down for some weird reason. It was frustrating.

So yesterday I had rehearsal. Again. :) It was really fun. I'm getting to know my cast mates better, and we're actually starting to block! So below are my blocking notes for the opening Ballad. We open in three weeks. Which is kinda scary. :P

Today Megan and I started working on one of our final projects. We're almost done. This was for Instrumental Methods. We had to put together several different band concerts. It's really fun. We got most of it done this afternoon and I am going to finish up the rest of it before I head off to work in an hour.

Adventures in Aberdeen and Another Rehearsal

120 & 121/365

So I would have posted yesterday but I didn't get home until midnight-ish because I totally got lost driving back home from Aberdeen with my girlfriends Rachel and Michelle. It was an adventure. While driving we saw this sign and we laughed.

Today I hade another Sweeney rehearsal. We started blocking, which, in my opinion, is the best part of the show. I love it. Makes me happy. We had some good laughs. It's nice that I'm getting to know some cast mates a little better. We're getting more comfortable with each other.

Now I shall go shower (quickly) and go to bed. I should have done this, like, an hour ago. :D

God, That's Good!

114/365

I am back on the stage ladies and gentlemen. I had my first Sweeney rehearsal today and it was so great! We worked on the larger ensemble numbers, the beginning and ending ballads and God, That's Good tonight. It was fantastic.

The best part though? As I was leaving the producer Halle was saying goodbye to people as they left and she said "Bye Kelsey! I love listening to you sing."

It made me really happy.

But now I have stayed up far too late and I have to get up far too early tomorrow. No shower for me and to bed I go.

City On Fire!

43/365

I've been listening to/singing along with the ensemble pieces for Sweeney Todd. I was told to do so before my callback which is tomorrow! I'm excited. It will be fun. :)
