Tequila Shrimp!!!

We made tequila shrimp yesterday. And it was delicious. It was an excellent process and there were great people around while we were cooking. We lit the food on fire. On purpose. It was great.



I felt like such a grown up because I went and bought the tequila. It was the first time I actually went to a liquor store and could buy something.

There was lots of laughter and good food. We even went to get cupcakes afterwards. :)

(This was for yesterday by the way. But I had company and then work)

Girls and Muses

I didn't post yesterday because I didn't take a picture yesterday. Stuff happened.

So I took two today. They are pictures of pictures.

So after the stuff happened yesterday I went to Stephie and Erin's room to talk it out. And I am so glad I did. I hardly ever see them and I love them dearly. They are so sweet and amazing and even though they had homework to do, they were willing to listen and share words of love with me. It lifted my spirits and made me feel much better.


So last year I got the opportunity to do a benefit concert for Haiti. It was a capstone thing and it was a Disney themed concert. So Laura, Michelle, Rachel, Melissa and I got our stuff together and performed "Zero to Hero" from Hercules for the show. It was so much fun. We went on last and we got a huge response from the crowd. We get to do it again on Sunday. It's gonna be so great. I am going to have to run from Sweeney rehearsal all the way to Aberdeen though...but It's ok. It's gonna be great!



Sometimes I think I fail to realize just how great the people in my life are. I have such amazing friends who are always there for me. They won't hesitate to share love with me, draw silly doodles on my notes in class, send me songs that are inspiring and incredibly appropriate, make me laugh and lift my spirits. I know I am not as appreciative of them as I should be. I am so blessed to have all of these wonderful women around me on a daily basis. I hold them dear to me in my heart and I know that I am dear to them as well.

God, That's Good!

I am back on the stage ladies and gentlemen. I had my first Sweeney rehearsal today and it was so great! We worked on the larger ensemble numbers, the beginning and ending ballads and God, That's Good tonight. It was fantastic.



The best part though? As I was leaving the producer Halle was saying goodbye to people as they left and she said "Bye Kelsey! I love listening to you sing."

It made me really happy.

But now I have stayed up far too late and I have to get up far too early tomorrow. No shower for me and to bed I go.

Easter Sunday

Happy Easter. He is Risen Indeed. Hallelujiah!

I had to start off my day with work but then I got off and headed over to my Aunt's house for dinner with my family. It was really good to see them. I haven't seen them for a long time. On the way home it just started POURING down rain. It was crazy, but then I came around a bend in the road and saw the sun setting. It was a beautiful thing and I just had to take a picture of it.



I know I shouldn't have done this while driving in the pouring rain but it was too good of an opportunity to waste. It was beautiful in a really strange way. :)

Bras and Octopus Fingers.

This picture is beyond words.



It happened during our JuJu's Birthday Adventures. We ate steak and potatoes and then finished off with goat cheese cheese cakes. Then we went and bought JuJu her birthday present. A nice bra at Victoria's Secret. Then we went to Fuego and found the octopus fingers. And then we went home and made apple cherry pie.

It was beautiful and sunny today. There were so many people sittng in the ampitheatre before choir today. It was a great feeling. It really proves that spring is on the way. But that's a weird thing to think about because then it will be the summer before my senior year of college. Ugh...

But let's not think about that. Let's just look at the pretty picture of the sun, the fluffy white clouds and the blue sky. :)

Girl's Night and Conducting.

The past couple of days!

Yesterday I went to go see KeelyAnn in the dance ensemble show! She was beautiful! Then she and Megan and Rachel came over. We watched The Holiday and ate four bags of popcorn and laughed and cried and swooned over Jude Law. It was brilliant!



Today I had work and then I came home and did homework. Mostly working on my conducting piece. Especially because I totally crashed and burned on Thursday. And cried in class. Not my best moment. But we all have them and I'm gonna go into class on Tuesday and rock it, because let's face it. I know how to teach. I just wasn't prepared like I wanted to be. :P

It is on my bucket list to own a poster from every theatre show I have ever seen. Previous to this I had Wicked and Spring Awakening. My big present for myself in New York was to buy the posters of the show that I was going to.

NEW YORK CITY!

This is everything I'm taking to New York. I am SO EXCITED! I'm leaving my house today but I'm staying at Rachel's house. It is SO much closer to the airport. We're still gonna have to leave super early.



Anyway. I'm not gonna have alot of time to post when I'm in New York. So there probably won't be a new post until Thursday. But I'm going to be taking plenty of pictures so there's no need to worry about a picture of the day. I'll post all of the best pictures of my trip!

Megan and I went out and about today. We went and got fingerprinted and then to get haircuts, I picked up my Sweeney Libretto and then we went to Ted Brown again to work on a project for Instrumental Methods.

Homework During Spring Break

This was only a portion of the work that Megan and I have been sifting through the past couple of days.



We looked through all of those books PLUS about twenty more for music for a Choral Materials project.

The good news? We are both finished! Everything has been found and submitted. Weeks early too!

Megan and I are proud of ourselves. We've been working hard. Tomorrow we're gonna get even more done. We're going to get finger printed, our hair cut, I'm picking up my libretto for Sweeney, AND we're going to Ted Brown to work on a couple more projects for our Instrumental class! We are busy bees!

Funny to Ethereal

So today Kimmy, Megan and I were watching Star Wars and we took a little break to try and take those crazy pictures where you whip your head back and forth and when you take the picture your face looks absolutely absurd. So we were trying it. Mine were awful. I looked like I was getting punched in the face. Megan's were excellent. But if I post them she will KILL me. Kimmy kept laughing in the middle of hers so hers look ethereal. They are beautiful. :)

Bad Things

I was a slug today. An absolute slug. I did nothing except watch True Blood. And you know what? I deserved it. I have been working so hard and I have been filled with so much confusion and stress and sadness. I deserved to have a day of rest and slug-ness.

I did do my laundry though. So I wasn't a complete slug. And I'm probably gonna walk over to campus and see Megan tonight. But then I'll sit and watch movies and be a slug again. :)

True Blood is so fun. I have read all of the books that the show is based on and I love those. The show is different but in a good way. It's like Howl's Moving Castle. You have to look at them as two completely things. You can love them both. And that's how I feel about True Blood.



I am perfectly content right now. There are things that are wrong in my life, but there are so many more wonderful things. :)

The theme song of True Blood is so catchy. I don't like country but damn. Bad Things by Jace Everett is a catchy song.

Happy April Everyone!

I went and got groceries and toiletries today and Laura and Rachel came with me. Laura wanted candy so she grabbed a pack of M&M's and when she discovered that there was a possibilty that she could win movie tickets, the following picture ensued.



So funny. And then on the drive home I was talking about how it was April Fool's Day but it came out as "Gaypril" and Laura got really excited because she collects gay men. So Gaypril is Laura's month. :)
