Halloween Party!

300 & 301

Only 64 days of blogging left! That's so crazy! I've come so far! I honestly can't believe that it's been almost a YEAR since I started! That's a long time. And I have kept up with this blog faithfully. :)

So yesterday we had The Second Annual Halloween Party at the Muffin Top. And it went really well. We had lots of fun and there were some REALLY great costumes this year. Like, super creative and thought out!

I was Jareth, the David Bowie character from the movie Labyrinth.

We couldn't get my hair to stand up right though.....

And Rachel was my counterpart, Sarah. The woman Jareth is Madly In Love With.

Harmony and her boyfriend Steve were ninja inspired by the anime Naruto. So badass. They had actual kunai knives and shuriken.

SO BADASS!

Anna and Megan were Sammi and Snookie respectively.

They weren't really THAT orange. I played it up with the editing program I use.

 And even Paula Deen came!

It was so much fun! I'm really glad it happened!

As you can see we had lots of fun together!

Tomorrow is our big Halloween party! I should have lots of fun pictures!

Fast Forward A Few Years

297/365

I am now a few years older.

And I decided to get a hair cut.

And I got a lot LESS cute.

:P

I Was Meant to Be Here

296/365

Clearly, I was meant to be a Washingtonian.

No those old people in the background are NOT related to me in any way, shape or form.

Even when I lived in Kansas, when I came to visit my grandparents up in Washington, I was set and ready to go.

Check out that pink raincoat.

And I obviously know what I'm doing with that umbrella.

I was meant to be in the Pacific Northwest.

In other news, I'm barely surviving.

Thanksgiving is my goal. Then, and ONLY then can I begin to think about finals. I'm taking baby steps.

In the words of the band Hot Chelle Rae:

"I don't know if I'll make it/But watch how good I'll fake it. It's alright, alright. Tonight, tonight."

Punkin Patch!

293/365

So yesterday, after Practicum, I went to the Punkin Patch with Rachel, Alicia and Tim!

It was SO FUN!

I haven't been to the punkin patch in years. Last year Harmony and I bought our punkins at the store. But this was so fun! I didn't even care that it was misting/raining and it was soggy. I had fun.

And I got a really cutie punkin. I carved stars into it. I didn't feel like making a face

Friday: Brother and Sister

292/365

This is me and Dylan and Maddie saying good night to each other.

Skyping with Dylan usually turns into Skyping with Dylan AND Maddie. Which is ok with me. I love getting to see my brother and sister and talk to them and have fun. It always makes my day better.

Fancy Girl

291/365

I am the fanciest.

Look at me with all of those feathers.

And that pose?

Please.

No contest.

I would win America's Next Top Model: Kid Edition.

I'm even smizing!

Tyra would approve.

Princess

290/365

Since Halloween is coming up I thought I would post a picture of me in a costume I adored!

My princess costume

My grandma made it for me. :)

Also: That umbrella in the picture? I still use that umbrella today. It's sitting in my room right now. :)

Zombies and Singing

289/365

Today was an interesting day. Classes, and skipping to work on midterm filled the first part of my day. After choir in the afternoon I decided to give myself the evening off before the concert to eat dinner and unwind. So I decided to start watching The Walking Dead.

It's a new AMC show (started last spring) and it's a ridiculously amazing zombie show. I enjoy it so much. It's super creepy and so entertaining and it really pulls you in.

So I had to stop in the middle to get ready for and go to the first of our two fall choral concerts. It's my last, first college concert and I was so pleased with how it went. Seriously a beautiful concert. I teared up more than once and I smiled so big. I'm in Chorale (a mixed ensemble) and Choir of the West (the other mixed ensemble) gave us a standing ovation after our set. It was a glorious moment for us and I loved being on stage with every single one of the members of Chorale. It was a wonderful moment and I am so blessed.

Sunday & Monday: Prickles

287 & 288/365

This is me and our cat Prickles when he was just a little munchkin. He is no longer with us but he is remembered quite fondly in our home. He was a sweet kitten and he actually liked me in those days. As we both got older he got grumpy and didn't like me as much. :P

Homecoming!

286/365

No Blast from the Past today. This picture was too good to waste.

Last night and today were just wonderful.

I went to an Orff-Schulwerk Mini-Conference with Rachel and Megan last night. And it was wonderful. The primary presenter was a woman named Karen Medley and I wish that I had been a student in her elementary music classes. She is a genius and a wonderful lady. So calm and collected and yet so passionate about what she is doing. She's an inspiration. It was glorious. Totally verified that I want to be a music educator and that I'm following the correct path. So much fun was had.

Today we went to a couple more sessions in the morning and then drove back down to school to go to our homecoming game. I went freshman year and I figured that I should go my senior year to cap it off. And it was so worth it. It was so much fun and I got to go with two of the most beautiful and wonderful women in the world.

Aren't we just the cutest???

It was an excellent weekend. I even got some homework done today despite my exhaustion. Tomorrow I will be working hard core on my philosophy test answers. (Open note tests are nice but the profs expect SO MUCH MORE from you....)

Sunflower Dress

285/365

First Day of First Grade.

My grandma made me that dress. Sunflowers are my mom's favorite so HER mom made me a dress for my first full day of "big kid school."

:)

Thursday: Backyard

284/365

This is me in the backyard of the house I lived in for a good portion of my life in Kansas.

It's the first house I remember living in and I loved that house. When we first moved in it was painted red with green trim. Then we got it painted and it was white with green trim. I have always loved that kind of look and I think I may want that on the house that I live in eventually....it's an interesting thought anyway....

Oversized

283/365

I think I've always liked oversized sweatshirts.

I actually like oversized lots of things. Sweatshirts, flannels, pajama bottoms.

I like feeling like there's a lot of material around me. In some respects. :)

(Boyfriend shirts are the best...)

Holiday Babies

281 & 282/365

Sorry about yesterday. It completely slipped my mind. Stuff was happening and then I was asleep. :)

So here are pictures for yesterday and today. Holiday Kelsey!

This was my Christmas dress. I don't know for how long but I wore it for family pictures one year too!

I also had a puzzle with letters too! Rainbow puzzles. :)

Then below is Fourth of July from some year. I'm assuming because in the second picture I'm waving a flag and being all patriotic!

Check out those duck lips!

Also those are my grandparents that I currently live close to! It's weird seeing them so young. :)

Waving that flag like it's nobody's business!
:)

Now for the glorious land of homework (at least a little bit) before bedtime. I may sleep in a little bit tomorrow.....

Mmmmm Popsicle

280/365

We're really getting up there in numbers aren't we? It's almost the end of the year, and I am still going strong!

So anyway. This is little me, once again. And we're in the backyard in our house in Kentucky! That's right. I lived in Kentucky for a little bit. Then we moved to Kansas for eleven years and then we moved onto California. (That's a lot of "K" sounds....) But now I've wound up in Washington and I am happy as I can be.

I'm really enjoying that popsicle. I've always liked popsicles.

I also remember those silly little kiddie pools. Even when you're kiddie sized, they just aren't big enough....

Bitty

279/365

More of me. Most of the other pictures for this month will be of me. I was just so darn cute that I can't help myself!

Those aren't two fangs. It's just the flash reflecting off my drooly mouth!

I even have the same haircut now!

So yes. Bitty me.

Tonight is my wonderful friend Anna's 21st birthday! You saw her a few days ago. A week ago actually. We went to see 50/50 randomly. It was fun. And tonight will be fun too! Not as fun for me because I'm the DD but it will still be a glorious time!!

We're dressing up!

The First Bouquet I Ever Got

278/365

This is one of my grandmother's favorite pictures.

My dad spent hours and hours sitting in the car cutting off any and all things that would poke, cut, harm or otherwise distress me. And then he presented them to me.

I was obviously quite pleased.

Thursday: Me Me and More Me!

277/365

So to make up for my lack of posting last night (due to drunkeness) I am giving you not one, but TWO pictures of me when I used to be super cute!

Aren't I just the sweetest?

Apparently before this one was taken (the one below) I threw a huge tantrum and I was sad and crying and they couldn't get any good pictures. Then they gave me the froggy I am holding and I cheered right up.

Another one of the pictures that were taken during this session is a close up on me and there is a single tear that was running down my face. It's quite the shot.

Blast to the Past October

273, 274 & 275/ 365

I have decided that for the rest of October I will be doing "Blast to the Past"

I have a stack of old pictures that I wanted to scan but I was unable to because my printer is dumb.

ANYWAY I have gotten requests from my grandma to get some of them back so I'm going to get ready to let them go by posting them on my blog until I have them all.

Let's go back to a time before I existed.

Meet: My dad.

Super cool isn't he?

I love this picture of my mom! It's of when she was in Europe. (France? Maybe Italy? Is that the statue of David in the background? I didn't even realize that until just now. I was too focused on the pigeons!)
She wrote on the back of the picture that the pigeon wasn't attacking. It just happened to land in her hair demanding food.

And this is my Mom and her sisters at my parent's wedding! Shari is the next oldest and Jennifer is the youngest!
I think it's safe to say the while my mom's dress is beautiful, I will not be having it remade for my wedding. Those sleeves are pretty big. :)

More pictures to come!

Saturday: Girls Night Out

272/365

I got in really late last night so I didn't post. :P Don't care. I had a wonderful night.

The ladies below are Megan and Anna.

I'm in there too. We took another picture with me in it but it was blurry. I like this one better anyway.

Both are two of the most wonderful women I have ever met in my entire life. And we have started this tradition where we "break into" Lagerquist (which is the amazing performance hall on campus) and we sing in the dark. We bring a speaker system and play music and sing our hearts out. It is such a great way to de-stress.

So we went and we were all really tired so we didn't do as much singing as we usually do. And then one of the organ players broke in too and asked if he could practice so we headed out. And then we decided to go on an adventure. We decided we were hungry and I wanted pie and Megan wanted ice cream so we were on our way to Shari's. On the way to Shari's however is a movie theater and Megan mentioned wanting to see the movie 50/50 and Anna and I agreed. So we redirected and drove by the theater to see if the movie was showing.

And it was!

So we ran up, bought our tickets and realized that we were still hungry and we didn't want to spend ten dollars on a hot dog. So we used Anna's smart phone to find a Taco Bell, which was just down the street. And we feasted on deliciousness. It was a great time.

Back to the theater we went and saw 50/50. It's a movie staring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen. Joseph stars as a man named Adam who gets a rare form of back cancer and Seth is is BFF. It's Adam's story as he goes through all of this traumatizing stuff. He builds a relationship with his therapist (played by Anna Kendrick) and rebuilds his relationship with his mom. We laughed, we cried and we loved the movie. It was a wonderful time.

Of course by the time it was done it was 12:30 in the morning. And I had to get up at 6:00 to go to work. :P

It was still the best night I've had in a long time and it was totally worth it.
